The River Rat Pack Line Up Announced

The River Rat Pack have confirmed Sound of Rum, Bastille, Beans on Toast and more for this unique festival on a river!

The River Rat Pack is pleased to unveil some of the acts performing on the 2011 tour. The hotly tipped Sound of Rum, Joker and the Thief, Holy Vessels, Bastille and Dark Moon join River Rat Pack founder and festival favourite Beans on Toast for the tour setting-sail on May 22nd in London, building up to an all day mini-festival on May 29th in Oxford.

The tour is also pleased to unveil its 2011 artwork, crafted by legendary illustrator, “monster creator” and Super Furry Animals and Magic Numbers graphic go-to Pete Fowler.

The River Rat Pack is an entirely unique concept, taking a group of talented, up and coming musicians on three barges to live, play live and collaborate for a week, while cruising from London to Oxford ~ dropping anchor at venues along the way for old school, shambolic pub performances.

After the huge success of previous year’s line-ups, which have included Mumford & Sons, Golden Silvers, Josh Weller, Jay Jay Pistolet (aka Justin Young from The Vaccines), Nat Jenkins, Luke (The Kooks) and SixNationState, The River Rat Pack has gathered together a new crew of musicians to take with them along Britain’s beautiful waterways for a rock ‘n’ roll tour like nothing else. Its horde of guitar-wielders and poets will sail down the canals and estuaries of the Thames for one week of sun drenched, whiskey drinking merriment amid a stunning summer soundtrack.

Each night you’ll catch the whole line-up live in various venues, while performances atop of the barges during the day will be a perfect chance to swill lashes of Pimms with the traveling festival. The emphasis of the tour is on collaboration and community, and that is extended to the audience as well with all shows being free entry.

"Our Experience of the River Rat Pack Tour is something we hold very close to our hearts. It was quite simply one of the best weeks of our history as a band. So much music, and brotherhood, and drinking and fun. All the things you'd expect by throwing a handful of bands on a couple of boats and setting voyage down the Thames" - Mumford & Sons
