If you combine elements of sugary indie-rock with moody soundscapes and back it all up with the intensity of a psychedelic wall of sound, you will wind up with something along the lines of 36?. Taking inspiration from all outlets of music, 36? has a sound that is easy to relate to while maintaining an eclectic modesty that is hard to define. In 2006, 36? was a Calgary-based solo project of seventeen year old basement dweller Taylor Cochrane. Six years and three self-produced albums later Cochrane joined forces with Mike Malkin and Scott White and took 36? to the stage. The band released another online EP of Cochrane's recent recordings and embarked on their first tour of Western Canada. Upon returning home the band was joined by Ryan Kusz and they immediately began working on a new full length album. After about a year in production their newest record where do we go from here? was released on February 15, 2014 and received very positive responses from local radio stations, papers and music blogs. “Where Do We Go From Here? is an aural experience that is as mind-boggling as it is breathtakingly masterful. And it’s one of the best alt rock records you will hear all year from this or any other city — a modest masterpiece that should have a long, illustrious life.” - Mike Bell, The Calgary Herald On April 19, 36? plans to release a follow up album entitled "reprise" and will be embarking on a tour of Eastern Canada en route to play Canadian Music Week in Toronto in early May.
