Formed in 2010 by Guitarist Tom Clarke (Insidious) and Vocalist Tom Brumpton, Nottinghamshire based Industrial mob Akarusa Yami have worked tirelessly to build a name and so far they’re succeeding. Later joined by Drummer Adam Jones, Guitarist Damian Lee, Bassist Jake Bennett and Keyboardist Lee Dowling; Akarusa Yami have done an awful lot in a short space of time. In September 2011 they released their debut EP ‘Ouroboros’ to glowing reviews across the world. Picking up solid coverage in Terrorizer (UK), Zero Tolerance (UK), Metal Hammer (Norway), Legacy (Germany) and many others, the band’s profile quickly grew. Their debut singles ‘Third Eye, Wide Open’ and ‘Millennium Is My Salvation’ were picked up for national airplay in over 11 countries throughout Europe alongside copious amounts of airplay on various internet stations across the world. The band went on to play a series of successful shows including the 2011 Bloodstock Festival, alongside supporting Textures, The Ocean and Aliases. In late 2011 the band recorded ‘Life, The Venomous Way’ with prolific producer James Dunkley (Vallenfyre). Both ‘Life’ and ‘Ouroboros’ were mastered by universally acclaimed engineer Tim Turan (Plan B/Emperor). The band have since busied themselves finishing off their latest EP ‘Trace Element Rebirth’, which is due for release in early 2013. Taking a number of risks, the band have evolved into an entirely different beast in the short two years they’ve been together, and ‘Trace Element Rebirth’ seems to be an appropriate leap for such a talented outfit.
