Andy Marshall is a British born film composer, whose soundtracks are influenced by classical and jazz, along with modern electronic and acoustic instruments, and dance music. His approach to blending traditional film music techniques with modern instruments and styles allows him to create a unique sound. Andy wrote and produced a string of dance music releases with the Scottish DJ Colin Walker during the 1990s working with notable dance music labels, including Soma Records, Ministry of Sound, and Limbo Records. In the late 90s Andy's interest in film music was sparked when attending the screening of a Gerard Depardieu film which featured a track Andy had co-written and produced. "I was blown away by the way a piece of music I had written could affect the emotion of a film and the audience so much." Andy recalls. "When I walked out of the cinema, I immediately knew that this was something I wanted to learn more about". Andy enrolled in a course studying Music for Film and Television in Edinburgh, then went on to study under the two time Emmy-award winning composer, Hummie Mann. Since then he has scored a number of short films, feature films and has television adverts.
