For those who think of Las Vegas, the usual association of gambling, strippers, and all you can eat buffets comes to mind. What falls short in the thoughts of many is its thriving music scene. Making a definitive mark and rising to the top among musical acts in Las Vegas, youll find Anias. This five piece aggressive rock band has established themselves as a highly energetic and enthusiastic group that is continuously being praised by its rapidly growing fan base. Forming in the summer of 2004, Anias started as five friends with a passion for music. That passion quickly blossomed into something more as they were wowing audiences all over Las Vegas. Things were all falling into place when tragedy struck with the passing of their beloved friend and bassist Ryan Stevens. After a brief hiatus, Anias regrouped and set out again, this time fueled by not only passion, but a chance to continue on in Ryans memory. Now back on the scene, they continue to amaze audiences with their exhilarating and devastating live show. They continue to push the boundaries and are re-defining their genre. Anias released a five song E.P. The Youthful Preface to a Revolutionary Chapter, in September of 2005 and have sold over 1000 copies since its release, both online and at performances. The E.P. was released with rave reviews and even landed them in the Smartpunk.com top 10 for three weeks along side genre giants such as Thrice, Saosin, and Underoath, as well as accumulating over 120,000 plays on their myspace page alone. Through Smartpunk.com, they were able to reach international markets selling cds throughout Europe, Australia, and over 100 in Japan. In 2005 Anias was selected over 276 bands in the Los Angeles area, even beating out Drive Thru recordss act Halifax, to perform on the Taste of Chaos tour playing along side The Used and My Chemical Romance. Later that year Anias landed themselves a spot to perform on MTVs My Super Sweet Sixteen, which included an exclusive interview with MTV. This summer they are scheduled to start touring nationally full-time. Anias are definitely headed for great things, and they arent looking back.
