There are at least Three bands called ‘Ape’. 1.) Ape consists of ex-members from Disagree and Hurting Progress, two metal bands that split up in the late nineties. Despite having deep roots in the Hardcore and Metal scene, this colorful Stockholm based band's musical expression reaches far beyond any specific genre. Each member has a long history of writing songs and performing on stage. The creative rules are very simple: Anything goes, as long as it sounds good. "There are no limits for how heavy a guitar riff can be or how soft a melody can get as long as the music expresses what we want to say. We live for the music and the process of sharing it with anyone who might enjoy it." Through their wide range of influences and by adding an intense punk rock feeling Ape breaks new ground in the rock scene. With sweet emotional vocals to growling screams of anger backed up by fat guitars, driving bass lines, innovative effects and brutal drums this quintet is on to something that might change the heavy underground music for ever. Naah... they really just love playing music and delivering those Ape tunes. Ape: Daniel - vocals Peter - guitar Oscar - bass Pjorra - turntables & fx Bobby - drums www.apeclan.net 2.) There is another band called APE (http://www.tikimania.com/ape.html), from Los Angeles, who play Tiki Music (Exotica and Surf) and include a "percussionist" who carves Tikis from palm trunks in time with the band. They are an APE of a different color, however. The Band - Eric Rindal, Crazy Al, Lane Murchison, Mitch Tobias, Frank Novicki & Kevin Woodhouse. 3.) Ape is also an Italo Disco artist.
