There are at least four bands called Artisan. Artisan is a new music and media project conceived by Jens F. Ryland. Stating in the official Artisan blog that, "My travels in Hyboria gave me inspiration to create my own music." The line up thus far is: I.C.S Vortex(Ex Dimmu Borgir, Borknagar etc)- vocals/ bass Mustis(Ex Dimmu Borgir)- Keys Asgeir Michelson(Spiral Architect)- Drums Jens F. Ryland(Borknagar)- Guitar http://www.artisannorway.com/category/artisan/ Another Artisan was an acappella vocal trio, comprising Brian Bedford, Jacey Bedford and Hilary Spencer. They disbanded in 2005. This is the the group featured on this recording. They did a reunion tour in 2010. Hilary Spencer is still doing solo work and works with Grant Baynham in the duo Quicksilver. Hilary also works with the Mrs Ackroyd band. The third performs rich vocal harmony, with intricately-plucked guitars, double bass and spliced drums. Formed in a small mid-Devon village, now based in London, (the third) Artisan have been described as a cross between Simon & Garfunkel, Radiohead and The Coral. They've had recent airplay on both Radio 1 and XFM, and a new made-in-a-cupboard EP is rumoured for eminent release. Another Artisan is a hardcore band from Oklahoma that was started in October of 2008. The band is a group of teenagers playing fast and melodic hardcore. They currently have a four track demo and are planning to soon release a DIY ep.
