Axel Krygier is a musician and composer from Buenos Aires (Argentina). His music does not bear any simple definition, it is rather a fusion between the characteristic sounds of South America (cumbia, tango), European folk melodies (Klezmer, Balcan) with groove, dub, psychedelia, twist and countless styles, as Axel Krygier's sounds are a constant surprise. His discography as a solist consists of four albums ("¡Échale semilla!", "Secreto y Malibú", "Zorzal" and "Pesebre"), however he has been long known as a versatile instrumentalist in Buenos Aires and Europe, namely working with such groups as La Portuaria, Kevin Johansen, Sexteto Irreal, Soda Stereo, Juana Molina or Hypnofon...His other works include film, theatre and dance spectacles´ scores. In December 2009 Axel Krygier released two new albums in Argentina: "Pesebre" and "Trois Tangos" (Los Años Luz Discos). The first one is his solo project and a continous musical exploration. Expect new surprises: lots of cumbias, weird grooves and Klezmer beats. "Trois Tangos" is Axel's musical score to a Parisian contemporary musical-opera, staged last year in the French capital. www.axelk.com www.myspace.com/axelkrygier
