Jack of all trades, master of some. Bamalam’s path started around age 12, after a few years of freestyling while playing playstation to instrumental CD’s to himself. Following the need for self sufficiency over the years He taught himself to produce, record, mix, film/edit even make websites under the belief no-one would do it for him. With a wide range of skill sets under his belt this meant he was constantly helping out others around him and trying to progress, thus he became a part of many different collectives. By the age of 18, he had dropped a few unnoticed projects with many different units however one most notable which he was still a part of as a Mc was ‘We Are Dubist’ a crew backed by Vagabondz/Outlook and also Congo Natty aka Rebel MC. Rebel MC took the group under his wing and was set to release an EP for them on his label however complications meant it never came together and ultimately split the group. Each member went their own way, at this point he returned to his first love Hip Hop. He linked up with Cystic again who was originally a member of of a previous group they were in (but had paused music to focus on studies). With Cystic now out of college and wanting to make music ‘Divine Rights’ was formed with the addition of Producer and sometimes rapper Dirty Stanz in 2010. Over this time they worked on their craft all producing and rapping and went on to put out a tester EP and even Mixtape: Punchline heavy rappers and all huge battle fans they would attend Don’t Flop events whenever they could and by the time 2012 had come around Bam took the plunge and debuted in a DF battle against Phest: Forward to 2014 in the space of 2 years Bamalam has battled 13 times and stands are a current record of 10-1. He also went on to become a member of the staff team and helps with running/setting up events, video editing and filming and the odd extra job here and there. Currently he is working on a few projects and returning focus back onto music.
