Billyclub formed in the frozen Tundra that is Kenosha Wi (USA) - March 95. The lads started gigging and built up a following. They met Erv from Idol records at one of Terry Bones Sunday afternoon piss ups in the Chicago burbs (very nice thank you). The 1st release was a 7” single with Self Help and a cover of 999’s “Homicide.” It was well received and got reviewed by none other than Billboard magazine. The debut album "It’s Better to be Pissed Off", was the next release (96). After the 1st successful US tour the band relocated to Dallas. Billyclub released another 7" “I Saw God” on Sour Records. They started writing songs for the next CD however things were not working out within the band and soon parted company with Kurt. Dave Woodard (ex REO Speeddealer) stepped in and the band resumed writing and recording. The new CD was titled “Out to Lunch" and that came out in June / July '98. They then had another US tour - including the shittiest tour that never was!! Allegedly booked by some Wanker called Larry, the band did pick up shows in all the towns that were supposed to have been booked! (long story)…After that Debacle the band had a line up change; Kevin was out(another stupid mistake) and Terry Bones (Discharge, UK Subs, Broken Bones ETC!) was in. A small tour followed, and Cold Front Records came to visit, liked what they saw, and that resulted in the "Serve Loud" ep. Another US tour (west coast, mid west) again. In 1999 they finally got on a good tour…thanks to Colin from GBH. The band did the whole GBH USA tour during winter 99 and what a laugh that was. Most nights Tezz got on stage with GBH to do the Discharge song "Realities Of War" and Ross got on stage with us to play “Surf.” Yhis tour resulted in the “Punk as Fuck “(Idol) EP and the “Punkrockambulance” EP (Casey Orr of Gwar fame played bass on this ep. Kurt also did backing vocals.) After the long rest from Tour Fatigue Tezz buggered off to Kansas with his new love and Kurt expressed his interest in getting back the original line up and basically finish what they started. The rest of the band thought that would be a good idea and had to part company with Dave (no fault of Daves cos he was the shit!) With Kevin and Kurt back a small east coast tour came about. Not to good - in fact it was disaster! The same old shit started with Matt and Kurt, this time it started to affect all of us. After the drive back home to Dallas the band collided straight into a head on collision with personal problems for Kurt. This story unfolds in the FUVM ep. Check out the songs "Big F", "Die Already" and "FUVM!" This release on Hello (2000) was to be the last thing Billyclub did with the original line up, finally calling it a day in 2001. There have been a few reunion shows when Karl goes back to Dallas.
2002 Karl moved back to the UK and set about forming a band. Mok was very keen and had Andy already lined up for the gig. After a few false starts with a couple of bassists John Kitson was tracked down - he had played in Xtract with Karl. John was who the band was looking for from day one but Karl had lost touch with him and no one had his number…but through a chance meeting at a gig in Farnworth John was press ganged into joining the band.
Billyclub played the 1st concrete Jungle festival and Keith from Cultjam Records watched the gig. As soon as Billyclub came off stage they were asked to join the label. The band already had the album recorded, so just new artwork by Jizz, and Cultjam released the “No Justice” cd Oct 2007.
