BLACK CIRCLES are an alternative power-trio from Kent, England, whose gloriously heavy, melody-driven rock songs have gained them a strong loyal following and caught the attention of radio shows across the UK, USA and Canada. Both ambitious and demanding of themselves as songwriters and musicians, Black Circles combine the valve fuzz of Queens of The Stone Age with the blistering pop melodies of early Foo Fighters. Yet it is the creative synergy between guitarist/singer Dan’s impassioned vocals, Mayumi’s hypnotic bass lines and Tris’s masterful drumming that make the Black Circles’ sound so unique. A live favourite on the UK gig scene, Black Circles undertook a RocSoc university tour and played a series of summer festivals up and down the country to promote second single ‘Final Straw’ (iTunes, May 2011). The band wowed crowds and won new fans with performances at Farm Festival, Indie Week Ireland, Big Bike Festival and the legendary Great Escape in Brighton. Top production company Crossroad Films (Biffy Clyro, Athlete, and Muse) were so impressed by their energetic live show that they produced the video for the single. Final Straw, a confident and muscular follow up to debut release Little Girl (iTunes, August 2010) received glowing reviews online, airplay on Tom Robinson’s Introducing Show on BBC Radio6 and Total Rock Radio as well as features in the national magazines including Rhythm, Bass Guitar and Hello Kitty Fashion. With their anthemic new single ‘Escape’ due for release in late November, it’s clear that Black Circles have their sights set on big things in 2012.
