Formed in the suburbs of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, Bleed From Within have always delivered a devastating mix of melody and brutality through their music. Songs that echo the personal experiences of band members, and others that relate to the current state of society, resonate with a loyal group of fans who have stood by the band through thick and thin.
Following their formation in 2005, and a self-released debut EP in 2007, Bleed From Within hit the road to expand their fanbase and prepare themselves for the process of writing their debut album, one that would help them stand out in a music scene that is often accused of being generic and repetitive.
The band eventually signed for Rising Records, which gave them a platform from which to distribute their music. In late 2009, after a blinding set at Donington's Download festival, the album Humanity was released.
The first single, Servants Of Divinity, has been viewed nearly two million times on YouTube and gained the band a widespread following. Several extensive tours of the UK and mainland Europe followed, and the album was embraced by fans and critics alike, securing their position as a force to be reckoned with in the UK metal scene.
Returning home, the band began writing for their second record. Empire was released in the summer of 2010, and showcased a more commercial and groovier sound that paid homage to some of the band’s biggest influences. Songs such as The Novelist and The Healing showed a new, structured approach to the bands signature aggression, proof that the band were evolving.
After the release of Empire, the band took to Europe on two separate headlining tours, and appeared at a number of festivals across the continent. The album also saw the band embark on an extensive UK and European tour with metal heavyweights All That Remains, Soilwork and Caliban, then in 2011 as the main support act to US giants Suicide Silence on their UK and European tour with support from After The Burial. It was during this tour that Bleed From Within played a particularly memorable set at Belgium's Graspop festival, still their favourite show to date.
After the release of the first two albums, and the need to replace two members, the band took some time away from the road, and began writing for their third studio album. This was an album that would channel all the anger and hatred from people who tried to stop the band, and would push each member harder than ever before.
Parting ways with Rising Records was only the first step. Attracting the attention of world renowned record label, Century Media (Arch Enemy, In Flames, Suicide Silence), and heavyweight management in the form of Raw Power (Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon, Cancer Bats), has been an outstanding turn of events, and has filled the band with confidence.
With a solid team behind them, including support from Jagermeister, and the bond between the band members being stronger than ever, the rest of 2012 promises to be nonstop. Leaving the studio in August to play at several renowned European festivals, namely Hevy Fest, Brutal Assault, Summerbreeze and Pukkelpop, then returning to the UK in preparation for their tour as the main support act for their friends, While She Sleeps, Bleed From Within are well on their way to establishing themselves as one of the UK's finest metal bands. With plans to tour the world over the coming years, do not miss out when they come to a venue near you!
