Brendan Rogers is emerging on the burgeoning folk scene with an impassioned set of widely-influenced folk songs. His rousing vocals are complimented by an accompaniment of strings, woodwind and brass. Appearances at Great Escape, Lovebox and Standon Calling in 2010 have put him firmly on course for a very successful 2011 where he is due to play at Lovebox and Standon Calling again. Brendan has been a late starter to the world of song writing and only took up singing at the age of 25. After 5 years of honing his song writing skills he moved back to London from Switzerland to pursue his passion and start to make a name for himself on the London circuit. In a very short space of time he recorded his first set of demos with Grammy award winner Dom Morley, who had approached Brendan after seeing him play a small solo show in South London. The demos quickly gained him the credibility to secure some great support slots with the likes of the Magic Numbers and touring artists from Canada - Madison Violet and Joel Plaskett. From here Brendan moved onto play the Gaymers stage at Lovebox 2010 and the main stage at Standon Calling 2010. Brendan is releasing his first single “Valentine” which has been produced by grammy winner Dom Morley (www.dommorley.com Amy Winehouse, Adele, The Police) and features Chris Higginbottom (www.chrishigginbottom.com Sunday Girl, Clare Maguire) on bass, Rob Marlarkey (http://robmullarkey.posterous.com/ Zero 7, Roisin Murphy) and is mastered by Miles Showell.
