Bridie Jackson and The Arbour are from Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. They won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition in 2013, securing slots on two of the Festival's main stages. More information can be found at www.bridieandthearbour.com Bridie Jackson and The Arbour launched their début album, Bitter Lullabies, with a sold-out show at The Sage Gateshead in January 2012. In 2014 released their second album, New Skin, with a full UK tour. Bridie started playing guitar at five years old. She comes from a musical family, and while travelling Europe with her father, she was introduced to many musical styles including the Portuguese Fado tradition, the influence of which can be heard in her work. Bridie released 2 EPs with Urban & Eastern Records between 2009-2010, before moving on to focus on developing her sound with a band. She gradually added more voices and later instruments to her sound, eventually establishing the current line-up of the Arbour, in 2012. The breadth of influences that can be heard in the band’s distinctive sound ranges from gospel music to flamenco, as well as the more contemporary echoes of artists such as The Fleet Foxes, Goldfrapp and Feist.
