There are at least five bands using the name Bugs: From 1979 till 1983, there was the Amsterdam, the Netherlands punk band The Bugs. Including originally: Simone, bass; Ronald, vocals; Alex and Peter on guitars. Carlo Edel, the editor of Razorblade fanzine, became guitarist later. Drummers changed a lot. Australian Noise/Pop duo formed in Brisbane, mid-2014. The group draws from pop-punk / surf grunge influences to create a uniquely lighthearted sound; laden with intimate lyrical content and sing-along hooks. Formed as a solo side project from his Sunshine Coast band 'Pro Vita' - songwriter Connor Brooker created the moniker 'Bugs' after releasing a slate of self-produced bedroom EP's in 2014. Met with industry acclaim and national radio rotation in 2015 - Connor was joined by drummer Brock Weston permanently in January that year. The following debut mini-LP 'Too Fast For Satan' (2015) is 'Bugs' most recent music release. Brazilian psychedelic band formed in Natal, state of Rio Grande do Norte. Bugs started with an conversation between bassist Paolo Bruno and drummer Joab Quental, on the 2002 reveillon with the intention to make a band with influences of rock, cinema, psicodelism and literature. Paolo called cousin Denilton Falcão for playing guitar. On the spring of the same year, the band started to make shows in the city, with some recorded material. At the end of the year they released their first EP. In 2003 they returned to the studio to record their first album, 'Bugs' with 13 tracks, acclaimed by some critics as one of the best Brazilian indie albums of that year. In 2004 they played on the Porão do Rock Festival, one of the most important rock festivals in Brazil, and had received good critics. In the middle of this year drummer Joab left the band, being substituted by Automatics' drummer Augusto, and later Dead Funny Days' guitarist Dimetrius joined Bugs. They had also released a new EP called Exilio by indie label Mudernage Diskos.
