Bullets and Octane

Bullets and Octane is a hard rock group formed in St. Louis, United States, and active from 1998 to the present. The band is also based in Orange County, California. Its sound is tagged across hard rock, garage rock, punk rock, punk, rock and alternative.

History

The band first releases its debut EP under the name Bullets N' Octane, with The One Night Stand Rock N' Roll Band appearing in January 2003. It then adopts the name Bullets and Octane for its debut album, Revelry, which appears on the independent label Criterion Records in 2004.

The original lineup consists of Gene Louis on vocals, Jack Tankersley and Skye Jayne on guitars, Brent Clawson on bass, and Ty Smith on drums. Later, Jack Tankersley and Skye Jayne are replaced by guitarist James Daniel. The group signs to RCA Records in 2005 and issues its major-label debut, In the Mouth of the Young, in 2006.

Tours and later activity

In early 2006, Bullets and Octane tours as support on Avenged Sevenfold's City of Evil arena tour. The band also tours western USA with Bullet for My Valentine and later tours the UK with Stone Sour. In 2007, it announces a split with RCA Records.

The band then prepares the self-produced album Song for the Underdog, with Brent Clawson handling mixing and production duties. The album is planned for release during a US tour with Unwritten Law, with an initial period of sales limited to shows before wider digital and retail availability. The group is associated with Street Rats Records, and its listed members also include James Daniel Grossenheider, Zachary Kibbee, Nate Large, Gene Louis, Matt Rainwater, Ty Smith, Jack Tankersley and Skye Vaughan-Jayne.
