Bye Beneco

Bye Beneco is an indie band from Johannesburg, South Africa. The group has an eclectic five-piece line-up and comes from members with different musical backgrounds. Its sound brings together folk, gypsy, blues and ambient elements, and later also develops an electronic side. The band’s line-up includes Lenny-Dee on vocals, guitar and synthesiser; Bergen on drums, guitar and backing vocals; Jenny on vocals and xylophone; and Matthew on guitar, drums, percussion and backing vocals.

Releases and performances

Bye Beneco releases a music video for the song “On The Line” and issues its debut full-length album, Space Elephant, on JustMusic. The band also makes a free 2013 demo available. It plays its first festival performance at OppiKoppi 2013, which helps build its following and draws local media attention.
