Captain SKA are an unsigned six-piece UK ska band from Camberwell, London. They first came to prominence in 2010 with the song Liar Liar, addressing the UK politics of austerity. They have recorded several political singles in the years since, and released the Crime EP in 2014. In May 2017 they released ‘Liar Liar GE2017’, a remix of their prior hit, addressing the Conservative Party’s track record in power – with sampled quotes from Prime Minister Theresa May. The track debuted at #4 on the Official UK chart on release. Notably left out of British radio countdown lists, the song's success and political content has attracted news media attention in the UK and internationally.
