Moving south from their native Scotland, lead vocalist/bassist Greg and drummer Dave wound up in Tottenham, North London, where, in addition to generally ‘hanging about’ and enjoying the dynamic cultural mashup of N17, they took jobs in a wedding band, leading to a fortuitous meeting with Jack (guitar) and Zoe (keyboards). Thus, Cocoa Futures were born. Channeling the work ethic of a popular covers group in a more creative direction, the four-piece’s original songs took inspiration from such greats as Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem and Michael Jackson. Cocoa Futures imbue their self-styled ‘yumcore’ with sharp socio-commentary, which, given the catchy accessibility of their sound and their swift assimilation into the blogosphere, will soon be resounding in the craniums of a very large number of music fans indeed. http://www.cocoafuturesband.com ‘They haven’t even played ten shows but with Prince-like guitar bridges and endearing falsetto harmonies Cocoa Futures have a bright one ahead’ – Artrocker ‘A cheeky little blighter of a tune that literally sounds like an arse being wiggled from side to side – in the best possible way’ – Huffington Post ‘Dynamic and danceable pop’ – The List ‘very catchy danceable pop’ – Cruel Rhythm ‘huge things are expected from this four piece’ – Killing Moon ‘infectious pop tunes’ – Time Out ‘bright infectious funk of a track which guarantees that their future is as sweet’ – Don’t need no melody ''A mighty meeting of minds, the UK four piece get a stunning reinterpretation thanks to Kwes cohort Sey' State Magazine https://soundcloud.com/cocoafutures https://www.facebook.com/cocoafutures/timeline www.twitter.com/cocoafuture - See more at: http://lostinthemanor.co.uk/blog/artists-cocoa-future-agency-press/#sthash.Qlsopx7z.dpuf
