"Fred Skellenger -Mandolin- Born in Stuart, FL, I've lived in Independence and Kansas City, MO, Chicago, and Brooklyn, NY. I picked up a mandolin in 2001 and fell in love with it. My many influences include, Mike Compton, Ronnie McCoury, and Wayne Benson,+ others. I am self taught. I love old Blues and Country, and anything that has not sold it's soul! I play a 1981 Gilchrist. I also spend my time writing songs. Now, Lawrence Dillingham will be playing guitar and singing in his very original style. He is a local guy and went to school with and picked with many of the guys and gals here in the Asheville area. The oldtyme band he sometimes performs with opened up for The Traveling McCourys last summer(2009). And Ronny McCoury calls him "Django of the Mountains"... Nice! Then, Kevin Sluder will be playing Bass and singing in his great tenor voice just made for this music! He is from the Asheville area too. Kevin is a furniture builder and designer. He has been playing with the Tipton Hill Boys for years and you can find out about them with a Google search! Ok, Tim Gardner will play fiddle. He is a natural and smooth player. He and his dad make custom banjos and banjo necks. He has a degree in forestry and he is a sound engineer. He has been playing the High Windy band for a few years. You can google them and hear a bit!"
