Corinna Jane is a Franco-British singer-songwriter born in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany, but did most of her growing up in Northamptonshire, England and was fortunate enough to grow up speaking English, French and German. However, fed on a diet of 90s MTV, her biggest passion has always been music. She began to play tunes by ear on the piano as a child, before taking up piano lessons at the age of 5. Not long after, at the age of 6 she composed her first piece "Rainy Afternoon".
At the age of 8, Corinna moved to the UK where she pursued her musical interests further and began learning to play the guitar in her early teens. She continued to write songs and in 2005 her song "Resistance" was voted as hot track of the week on Pulse Rated, former leading digital radio station for unsigned music in the UK. This instantly gained her 20,000 plays on Myspace. However, one of her biggest highlights she cites is being invited to New York in 2007 when she was seventeen to record three of her songs, thanks to New York songwriter Teddy Christman and grammy award winning producer Fred Guarino. While she was there, she was invited play at a party at one of Long Island’s biggest estates where major commercials (Ralph Lauren) and programmes (Gossip Girl) have been filmed.
Still keen to nurture her multi-lingual abilities, Corinna went on to study French and German at the University of Bristol. Whilst living in Bristol Corinna took part in a local singer/songwriter competition (The Axe Factor) and was crowned the winner out of 100 people, which won her a deal with local independent label Viper Music (however she has parted with them since). During the summer she successfully toured in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany with local Singer-Songwriter Benjamin Sazewa, gaining local press attention.
During the summer of 2010, Corinna went on to play at The Bitter End (New York's oldest rock club) on Bleaker Street, New York, where she performed on the same stage as the likes of Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga and many more before they were famous.
In 2010 Corinna recorded her E.P at Rooksmere Studios, Northamptonshire including the song "Shouting At The Ghost", which has since been playlisted on Amazing Radio and broadcast on BBC Introducing Bristol and Northampton.
During her year abroad in 2011, Corinna spent a few months in Berlin and Paris working as an intern at Berlin's 104.6 RTL and a Parisian TV production company. Whilst living in Berlin, she was invited by one of Berlin’s top radio stations RBB Radio Eins for one of their peak time shows where she was interviewed in German and performed her acoustic number “Overcast Day”.* In Paris, she was given the opportunity to shoot a music video for "Shouting At The Ghost" thanks to Institut International de l"Image et du Son graduates Thibault Ciesielski and Yann Guyot who worked creatively with no budget.
Since returning to the UK, Corinna has worked with producers Jono Buchanan (West 4 Music: Annakin, Professor Penguin, Frank Turner) on "3 Seconds", Stuart Anning (Mission Limited Publishing) and Becky Jerams (Northstar Publishing, DWB Songs).
Corinna is currently recording demos of her new songs in her home studio set up and shall be showcasing these in the coming months.
