1. Canadian vocalist Paul Laine has had a long and varied career as a solo artist and in the rock act Shugaazer, but is probably best known for his time as frontman for Danger Danger. Laine took over from original singer Ted Poley and spent a decade with the band. After a period working on other projects at his studio he returned to the limelight in 2014 as frontman for Darkhorse and released the excellent ‘Let It Ride’ album.
‘Let It Ride’ features ten tracks of high quality country rock in the vein of Keith Urban etc.
2. Dissatisfied with the lack of teeth in music as of late, Ian McLean and Jay Giacomazzo began writing music for a new project. They enlisted Trevor Reilly and Mike Supina (both of A Wilhelm Scream) to helm the effort. Combining various influences from metal to R&B, Darkhorse brings a visceral sound that combines aggressive music with dark, meaningful lyrics and intense, melodic vocals. The end result is their debut album, The Engineer. Darkhorse is aimed to leave their mark.

A Seasoned DJ, he has traveled all over the world to perform in the last ten years, playing along side the likes of Alex Patterson and the Orb, Death in Vegas, Pharcyde, Chemical Brothers, Tim Love Lee, Coldcut, Herbaliser, Kid Koala, Consolidated, Doc Martin, Rockers Hi-Fi, Daft Punk, Harvey, Dave Seaman and John Kelly to name a few and at clubs like The Gardening Club, The Gathering, Stompy, Black Diamond, Spundaes, Wino, Bulletproof, Wicked, Heavenly, Boogie Buffet, Sound factory in NY, Nikita in SF, Ministry of Sound, Renaissance and the new Pacha in Egypts, Sharm el Sheik.
In 1995 Dj Darkhorse and Charles Uzzel Edwards started The Gardening Club in San Francisco, A monday night affair it offered a decompression for the SF music industry peeps after a long hard weekend. Dj’s had to play music they would play for their friends at home on a sunday early morning after too hard a night. Dj’s that played at the club were Matty Skylab, The Mammal, Felix The Dog, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Jesus and the Alien[had to be there], DB, Jeno, Garth, Markie, Patrick Pulsinger and many more great Dj’s. The club was set in a tropical location, with the Doobie Brothers old jet plane inside the club, one side of the plane looked out over the dancefloor, and made to look like it had crashed in the jungle. The roof slid back on the venue, so you could see the clear sky at night as you listened to the music, and it was covered in tropical plants and waterfalls, a perfect place for The Gardening Club.
Darkhorse also has been a writer for magazines like Urb and XLR8R, reviewing and writing features. And also did a stint as an editor for XLR8R on the Downtempo section.
He is part of the band Fishbunny (Three*Sixty Records) and Three Wheels Out (Pussyfoot Records), as well as releasing music under his moniker Darkhorse. He writes music for his own label Three*Sixty Records. Other labels he has releases on are Moonshine, Ubiquity, City of Angels, Fax Label, Tummy Touch/Peace Feast, Primal, Om Records, V2 Japan, XLR8R and Pussy Foot.
His latest project is "Music for Moving Images." A Film & TV music placement series. The company represents a select group of commercially successful composers/bands, offering much sort after music. Credits include: BBC, ITV, Citroen, GM, NBC, Tetra Pak, Oxygen Network, Sky Sports, Apple Computers, Burton Snowboards & many more. Also as a Music Supervisor on many projects, notably, Hotbeds "Confessions of a Burning man," and "Happily, Even After," also producing & writing music for both films. Other credits are Producer and Music Supervisor for the TV show "Freak City," "Finding the Zodiac," and "Justicia Now!"
