Dee Nyoni strikes the drum for soul served with grit. Her songs pay tribute to retro grooves with modern funky urban breaks mixed down with sassy background vocals. Her live delivery is fearless and has wowed audiences from Phily's North By Northwest, NYC’s Apollo Theatre, 5 Spot Soul Food and Sounds Of Brazil to London's Ronnie Scott's and The Jazz Cafe. With a tight band support, Dee Nyoni shows why her name is being whispered as one of the freshest BritSoul vocalists. Dee Nyoni has provided support for Acid Jazz giants James Taylor Quartet during their 2005 UK tour and was a major player on the “Kulturalfusion University Tour 2006" which was headlined by the UK's tour de force in the soul/funk movement, the Thabani band and not only toured with them on the US and Asia legs of their tour but also proved backing vocals for their critically acclaimed "Mind Is a Rebel" album (Ndebele/Cargo Records). Dee Nyoni also features as the only guest vocalist on Sam Moore's single "He Won't Let You Go" from his celebrated album "Splendid Isolation" (UnitedbyOne). She recently completed a short tour of the Czech Republic where she recorded vocals on the only track sung in English for NoBim's "Me Steblo" album. The end of 2010 unveils her talent as a Singer/Songwriter on the release of the much anticipated album "Beautiful Day" (Urban Zulu Records).
