Delight

Delight is a Polish gothic metal group from Skawina, near Cracow, active from 1997 to 2007. The band begins under the name SATOR in 1998 before taking the name Delight for its first full-length release. Its membership includes Paulina Maślanka on vocals, Tomasz Polczyk on keyboards, Piotr Szymański on bass, and Jakub “Cube” Kubica, Marek Tkocz and Paulina Maślanka among the listed members.

Formation and early recordings

The first line-up includes Paulina Maślanka on vocals, Jarosław Baran on drums and guitar, Sebastian Wojtowicz on guitar, Piotr Szymański on bass and Tomasz Polczyk on keyboards. After a few months of work, the band records its first demo tape, ...And Remember, which appears as a split release with AT DOMINE on the underground label Eternal Blackness. Daniel Kaczmarczyk later joins on drums, and the band continues writing and recording new material for a debut album.

Albums and later activity

After about a year of preparation, the group completes 10 songs for its first LP under the new name Delight. The later material is written, produced and recorded at home by Jarosław Baran. Across its career, Delight releases six albums before disbanding in 2007. The band is associated with gothic metal and remains one of the Polish acts linked to the style.
