Demeter Grieving are a duo from Cardiff who focus on the darker side of sound. The lyrical content ranges from LGBT and modern day relationship issues to drug and alcohol abuse and the hardships people face living modern day life. Drawing from personal experiences the emotive music merges perfectly with the catchy lyrics and melodies to create a unique blend of emotional, experimental and powerful music. In 2013, their début single Hurting, taken from the Codeine Culture EP, was praised by BBC Radio DJ Adam Walton as “one of the best things” he'd heard all year. They were recently included in an article by David Owens with WalesOnline that highlighted the best new music in Wales, referred to as a “winning formula” of “darkly brooding electro sounds”.
