Ben Dlugokecki (pronounced- Der-loo-go-ken-ski) is a prolific singer/songwriter based in Southampton, England. With a wide range of influences from Paul Simon and James Taylor through to modern acts such as Elbow and David Gray, his songs range from gentle Piano and Guitar based ballads to epic, emotional upbeat songs all with a broad appeal. After recording 4 self produced albums at home, Ben came to the attention of producer/writer Neil Kerr. He signed a production deal with Off The Wharf Productions, a music production company co-owned by Neil and award-winning producer Mark Hill (Artful Dodger/Craig David). They completed two singles, mixed at London’s Metropolis studio, released March 1st 2005 on Cherrywood Records followed by an album of Studio Recordings called 'Before The Storm' in July 2006 mixed in the USA. Ben reached the final 8 of the 'Sennheiser Best Unsigned Artist 2004' out of 2000 entries, played the 2005 ASCAP showcase at the London Barfly, had his music in the i-tunes music store, was named artist of the month on the 'Musician's Channel' on Sky and had his debut music video played daily. His music has been used on the soundtrack of Channel 4 hit show “Ny-Lon”, he has recorded in Metropolis Studio, London and had a twelve-day session in Ibiza, and recently had four tracks heavily featured in episodes of Channel 4's "Hollyoaks". With his live performances he has also played alongside 'Corinne-Bailey Rae' twice, , 'Paddy Casey', 'The Bluetones', 'Nerina Pallot', 'Battle', 'John Power (CAST/The La's)' and 'Sandi (I wish I were a punkrocker) Thom' three times. Three of his biggest shows to date were with Snow Patrol and Lu Lu, playing to thousands of people and his 2006 Christmas show in Southampton show which was a sell out. In 2007, Dlugokecki will complete and release his debut album, through independent record label 'And Records'.
