Doll And The Kicks were an unsigned Brighton-based indie/rock/pop band fronted by Liverpool-born female vocalist Doll and backed by Kicks - Olivier, Matt and Chris. Formed in late 2005 they began gigging as a 5 piece band around the smaller venues of Brighton and the UK building up a fanbase. Having gained exposure on local Brighton radio stations Juice FM and BBC Southern Counties DATK were then submitted by DJ Phil Jackson from Southern Counties to take part in a BBC Radio 1 competition to play Glastonbury festival in early 2007. They won the competition and in June 2007 played the BBC introducing stage at this years Glastonbury festival. Having had numerous bass player changes they decided in mid 2007 to continue as 4 piece with Olivier moving across from Rhythm guitar duties to bass guitar. DATK went into Home Studios (Nellee Hooper) in November 2007 to record there debut single which was released in early 2008 and called Roll Up The Red Carpet. DATK were asked personally by Morrissey in November 2008 to support him on his 2009 European 'Tour of Refusal'. DATK recorded their debut album Doll and the Kicks in December 2008 and it was released in 2009. On October 25th 2011, the group decided to disband.
