Dorey the Wise is a four-piece indie outfit from Hastings in East Sussex, who play a mix of original pop/post-punk songs with a sprinkling of more acoustic tunes. Their debut EP released in 2013 bagged them radio play and a live session on BBC Introducing, swiftly followed by a debut single, Give It All Away, that was featured on Tom Robinson’s Mixtape show on BBC 6 Music and Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show. Their second four-track EP, released earlier this year (2014), saw the band progressing to music of more depth and dynamics without losing any of their youthful exuberance, lyrical sensitivity or flashes of humour. Having gained support from DJs across Europe and the US and secured an impressive line-up of festival and support slots in 2014 including Example, Scouting for Girls, Tom Williams and the Boat and the Hoosiers, Dorey the Wise has been tipped as one to watch.
