Orkney-born Kris, emerged from the ferment of the late-90s Edinburgh session scene as a member of bands including Fine Friday and Session A9, and an increasingly sought-after accompanist, working with artists including Eddi Reader and Julie Fowlis. One of Scotland’s most accomplished and versatile musicians in any genre, John McCusker is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer who has worked with artists as diverse as Paul Weller and Patti Smith, Teenage Fanclub and Billy Connolly. Born in Bellshill, near Glasgow, in 1973, John began playing whistle aged five and fiddle two years later, forming his first band, Parcel O’Rogues, while still at high school. He joined the legendary Scottish folk outfit Battlefield Band at just 17, remaining with the line-up for the next 11 years, touring extensively around the world and featuring on seven of the band’s albums. Roddy Woomble was born in Ayrshire in 1976. During his childhood he and his family moved about frequently, living in France, England, and America before settling in the Scottish coastal town of Carnoustie, where Roddy - the lead singer of rock band Idlewild and a solo folk artist in his own right - spent his teenage years before moving, at eighteen in 1995 to Edinburgh to study Photography. After spells living in London, New York city and Glasgow, Roddy currently lives in the western isles.
