There are at least three artists with the title Echoic: 1. An alternative rock act based in Helsinki, Finland and London, United Kingdom 2. An IDM artist 3. An alternative rock band from Reading, United Kingdom. 1. Echoic is an alternative rock act consisting of Otto Nuoranne (b. 1991) and Markus Vuoristo (b. 1990), based in London, United Kingdom and Helsinki, Finland. The two Finns began working together in 2011 and the recording sessions a year later resulted in the 40-minute album Springbook, released in April 2013. Echoic’s music is rich and layered art rock, featuring influences from electronic music and classical music, especially showcased in the frequent use of cello. Electronic and acoustic elements interact gaplessly and are topped with Otto Nuoranne’s vocals, singing emotional lyrics about expectations, disappointment and hope. 2. Echoic's fascination with sound and synthesis far surpass his desire to compose music, which is likely the reason that he has produced only two albums and about 80 (mostly unreleased) songs in his career as a musician. The wave editor is Echoic's favorite audio tool, and working mainly from samples he has recorded and synthesized, Echoic is able to produce a wide variety of sounds through further processing and editing. Additional musical building blocks such as vocals, guitar riffs, and drum loops have been contributed by collaborating musicians. 3. Echoic were formed in Reading, UK in July 2013. The band is formed of Connor John Turner, Jack Ford, Matthew Sherriff and Kera Stewart, and released the debut EP Testify in October 2015.
