Emma’s Imagination

Emma’s Imagination is the stage name of Emma Gillespie, a Scottish singer from Edinburgh. She grows up in Dumfries and attends St Joseph’s College there. Before reaching a wider audience, she busks on the streets of Glasgow after moving there a year before her breakthrough, and she also spends time developing her performance skills in New York.

She first becomes known after winning the Sky1 television talent contest Must Be the Music. Following that, she is signed to Gary Barlow’s label Future Records. Gillespie takes up the guitar at the age of 16, and her songwriting ideas often begin while she is travelling. Her travels include time in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand.

She is in the Andaman Islands in India when the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami occurs. Her mother is Sharon and her stepfather is Rab C Nesbit.
