EVYLTYDE are a British metal band based in the London area who bring the sound of traditional, classic metal into the modern age with a mix of killer riffs, searing power chords and powerful, melodic vocals!!!
The group was established in August 2013 by Danny Merton (guitars) and Hannah Delany (vocals) after both met while being recruited for another band. When that project fell through, they quickly set about recording a number of tracks for independent release.
“Fight To Be Free” was the first of these tracks and is a homage of sorts to classic British metal bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Released during the traditional Christmas Chart period in 2013 and due to its lyrical content being inspired by events such as the Arab Spring, Libya and the war in Syria, EVYLTYDE are dedicated to giving all profits from the sales of the single to charity.
In late 2013, bassist Paul James (formerly VIRUS) permanently joined EVYLTYDE to add even greater depth to what was already an extremely powerful core and in July 2014 EVYLTYDE released their second single “Killer”, the video for which received over 1,000 views on YouTube in its first few weeks and was subsequently showcased on a number of internet radio shows.
With a number of drummer changes in the first half of 2014, EVYLTYDE finally settled with Isaac Marques (previously 101% PANTERA), a stalwart of the London depping scene who finally hung-up his mercenary hat to join the band full-time.
Soon after, to celebrate recording their debut album, the band released a third single “Skin Deep” in early October 2014 as a free download on their Reverbnation page with the song hitting over 1,500 plays on Soundcloud.
In May 2015, Jamie Butler (formerly F.S.I and INSIDE THE CIRCLE) replaced Paul James as EVYLTYDE’s bassist to bring even more influences to the band as they start to prepare material for their follow-up album.
With over 25 shows under their belt in just over 12 months, EVYLTYDE have performed at some of the UK’s most iconic small venues including The Dublin Castle and The Water Rats (London), Retro Bar (Manchester) and the O2 Academy Birmingham and within a relatively short amount of time have been lucky enough to share the stage with some other great independent UK metal acts including, BEHOLDER, DETHONATOR, SKREAMER, SLAM CARTEL and NWOBHM originators SACRILEGE.
It was also announced in May (2015) that EVYLTYDE would be the main support for the legendary Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, ALCATRAZZ) and his band on their AUGUST 2015 UK TOUR, thus adding the cherry on top of what has already been an amazing year for the band.
