Ewan Hoozami (Pronounced: /youˈn'hooz'arr'mee / YOU-n-hooz-ARR-mee / "You and whose army") The "stupendously well-named" EWAN HOOZAMI is a soul beats artist from Bristol,UK. Simultaneously one-man-band and three-headed-beast, Ewan is a well travelled and much loved party DJ, a vinyl obsessed music nut searching for the perfect sample, and lately, multi-instrumentalist composer, rapper and singer. From early cut'n'paste productions on his 2009 album 'Wildebeats' such as 'Drinking Song' and 'Falcon Punch', which both featured on Solid Steel (Ninja Tunes) mixtapes and, in the case of 'Drinking Song' earnt BBC Radio 6 airplay, an ear for a great sample and an unusual approach to sample manipulation was immediately evident. In the years to come, Ewan has developed his sound further, moving away from sampling and adding more and more original elements into his music. The past couple of years have been spent experimenting with his sound by remixing an array of up'n'coming artists such as Dirty Dubsters, Mr Bird, and Lazy Habits, releasing the free 'Fire In Me' EP, and a slew of mixtapes. As we approach summer 2013, Ewan Hoozami is preparing to unveil his most ambitious project to date - not only is his second album, Robot Soul, is almost entirely sample-free, it also marks the birth of Ewan Hoozami the singer. Also featuring on the album are guest vocalists OneSoul, Ill Literate (The Scribes), Colleen Quinn (Substatic) and Lady Nade, plus the guitar majesty of Brendan White. Either DJing in his technically adept, party-rocking style or performing his 'one-man-band' live show, Ewan has toured Greece twice, performed at Soundwave Festival (Croatia), V Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, Brisfest, Beach Break Live, Red Bull Riders, Boomtown Fair, Larmer Tree Festival and many more national and international events. Ewan also DJs with esteemed party-rockers Funk From The Trunk, Bristol's finest funk/hip-hop collective. For live bookings or DJ bookings contact bookings@wormfood.co.uk
