"Exoterik are a turbulent hybrid of haunting vocals and hard, moshy melodies which combine to create a fantastic listening experience" Band members: Anneka Latta (Vocals, Keyboards) Tom Fay (Guitar) David Parry (Bass, Programming) Steve Riley (Drums) The Anglo-Irish quartet who make up Exoterik were united by their determination and desire to create hard-edged music without resorting to the tired clichés prevalent in female-fronted rock. Spurning the OTT tendencies of their symphonic metal peers and the sickly sweet derivativeness of pop-rockers, Exoterik create a heady mix of stomping, energetic riffage and ethereal beauty inviting their audience to join in their cathartic reflections on human nature. Whether supporting Epica at Bradford Rio’s in 2006 or playing the Rock Sound Cave at Guilfest 2006 and 2007 with the likes of Therapy? And Reuben, their live performances have earned the band much respect and many fans from varied musical genres hinting at their universal appeal and the successes lying in wait. With local press, radio and record company interest adding to the buzz of Exoterik, the band travelled to Finland in late 2006 to record three tracks before venturing to Latvia in the summer of 2007 to record their début album with the multi-platinum producer John Fryer (famous for producing the HIM album ‘Razorblade Romance’ in 2000 as well as producing and mixing for artists such as; Cradle of Filth, Cocteau Twins, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode). The forth-coming album, now entitled ‘Don’t Swallow’, is hoping to be released in 2008 after being mastered by RedRoom Studios in Norway.
