Faustus

Faustus is an English folk group from the United Kingdom, active from 2006. The core line-up is Benji Kirkpatrick, Saul Rose and Paul Sartin.

Formation and members

Paul Sartin performs on bellowhead, Belshazzar's Feast, gypsy fiddle and oboe, and has previously played in Dr Faustus. Saul Rose plays melodeon and has also performed with Norma Waterson and Martin Carthy. Benji Kirkpatrick plays guitar and bouzouki, is also a member of Bellowhead, and works on Seth Lakeman's albums, the Oysterband Big Session and Dr Faustus. He also continues to play in his father's ceilidh band, Mr Gubbins Bicycle.

Releases and recognition

The group releases a collaborative album titled Faustus, which appears in 2008. It is nominated for Best Band in the BBC Folk Awards in 2009.
