Hailing from Leicester and making music in one form or another for the past 10 years, Free Control have unified with their current lineup in 2008/2009. Paul Cole (Drums & Percussion) Greg Shute (Guitar & Vocals) Sally Hossack (Guitar, Vocals & Flute) Oliver Bloor (Bass) and most recent addition Mike Sole on Keyboards - have recorded music that is the sum of its influences and yet incredibly difficult to pigeonhole in its own right. Blending prog rock, contemporary jazz, hip hop beats and classic songwriting they combine all of these to create a cerebral, meditative sound with heavier, rocking rhythms. The visual element is an important part in the Free Control dynamic with live visual manipulation a regular event at their live shows.
