Geminus is a Berlin based Heavy Rock band which was founded by the twin brothers Lubo and Niki Indjov. Their goal is to create music that activates the listener’s passion, rushes his adrenalin and takes him to a higher level of Rock n’ Roll.
Stylistically the songs of Geminus cover a very wide spectrum of genres incorporating old school feel with a new modern sound. Hard, insistent riffs with a smooth Hammond underneath together with soulful, catchy vocal melodies and a powerful low end groove form the musical character of Geminus.
Influence & Style
----------
The influence of Geminus is everything that is created with passion, energy and soul. These characteristics can be found in nearly every musical genre, but the primal focus is still on acts which carry the holy spirit of rock music. This includes rock dinosaurs like Deep Purple as well as heavy modern bands like Nickelback and Dream Theater. Of course every member of the Band has his own influences and expressions in music.
Especially Niki was highly influenced by a wide range of styles. His ambition was inflamed by the guitar playing of Ritchie Blackmore (in former times member of Deep Purple). Other influences are Steve Morse, Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan, Joe Satriani, Doug Aldrich, John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, Al Di Meola, John Mclaughlin, Paco De Lucia.
Lubo’s unique style originates from Groove-Jazz, Funk, Latin and Prog Rock. He was influenced by greats such as Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, Larry Graham, Stanley Clark, Marco Mendoza and John Myung.
Philipp Wagner was for a long period greatly influenced by the Hammond player maestro Jon Lord, as well as his past music teacher the Berlin jazz pianist Bernd Spanier. Furthermore influences were Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Smith, Brian Auger, Joe Zawinul and particularly Dream Theater keyboarder Jordan Rudess.
Also Philipp Schwab who started playing drums at the age of five was highly influenced at the time of his commencement by his past music teacher Thomas Kohlmetz as well as the Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice. To date a wide range of drummers were enormous inspirations for him like Charly Antolini, Mike Mangini, Lars Ulrich and particularly Mike Portnoy.
