http://www.girlafraid.co.uk Please note! The bandname GIRL AFRAID may refer to two bands. The band from Windsor full of dudes playing hardcore-pop and having far too much fun is still going strong. Basically - male vocals, yay. Female vocals, nay. Enjoy :). Girl Afraid is an English rock n roll quintet from Berkshire, England. Most of the members first met while they were high school age playing in various bands, including Aussie Roadster and Naked in Black, the latter achieving local success with the debut EP “Tell Everyone What You Saw Tonight”. When both bands split in 2008, the members of Girl Afraid came together in time to spend a summer writing songs which would appear on their debut outing - a live download exclusive entitled “Hi, We’re a Band”. Before the band had even recorded a formal demo, their popularity grew much faster than any of the members’ previous projects thanks to postings on Myspace Music and videos on YouTube, leading to an almost sold-out debut live show in London during October, and relatively big crowds at each date since. The band’s next move was to record an acoustic demo, which quickly became a Last.fm recommended download. They entered the studio in February to record some brand new songs, which were released for streaming on their myspace.com & Last.fm profiles in early March, with a great response from fans all over the world. "Five Weeks In Nebraska" is the band's first official single, and will be released on 25th May 2009 worldwide. Catch Girl Afraid on tour this summer - it’s time to join the party...
