Goldstar were formed in a cold recording studio in mid December 2012 by Lee Morris, Geoff Smith, David Gane and Charlie Kay. They were bought together by coincidence, random collaborations and recording projects being passed around between friends, but then, after deciding to meet up and together, they discovered they shared the same values and vision for their individual music careers and decided to join paths. Since then they have worked tirelessly writing, recording, publicising and dreaming, with the constant aim to create a new road of music under the banner of ‘Stadium Dance’. Big chorus’s, festival ready sets, real live instruments all wrapped up in a dance production is the goal, and after just 3 months of writing and recording they were ready to release their debut MixTape to the masses. Once uploaded this received thousands of plays, aswell as radio plays, Best Of British Podcast spotlights, and even requests from Japan! June, 3 months after the first release, saw the upload Mixtape2, the second installment in this journey, and also the debut of the acclaimed live show. Full live instruments, a showcase for the incredible voice of Lee Morris, and soon bookings at Islington Academy, Jamm (supporting Alt-J) and Lodestar Festival came flooding in! Before Goldstar the members had a taste of solo success. 2 members used to be in the act 'Pocket Lips', where they reached number 8 in the dance charts in 2010, had songs featured on The Jay Leno Show in America, and touring with acts such as Pendulum, Hadouken, Mr Hudson, Jessie J & Tinie Tempah… however it seems only now they are together, working endlessly towards that shared musical vision, that the real success is about to come!
