"Goteki" are a British electro band who sing songs about murdering strippers in the desert and robot geishas, and sound like an alien invasion in a DeLorean factory. The group was formed in 2000 by Sneaky (real name Ross Tregenza) after his former band, "Sneaky Bat Machine", ended. Their music is an unique mix of electro, industrial and alternative pop. The original "Goteki" line-up consisted of ex-SBM members Sneaky on vocals, Crash 303 (real name Clive Lewis) on synths, and newcomer Doktor A (real name Bruce Attley) on synthesizers and samples. In 2004, singer Sneaky dropped the pseudonym "Sneaky" in favour of his real name, Ross Tregenza. A radical shake-up of the band's line up followed, Doktor A left the band and was replaced by Ali Star (real name Alastair Power) on bass and Yan-Yan (real name Lilian Cheung) on percussion. Mid-2005 Crash 303 left the band and was replced by Edy Green on lead guitar. Finally, Yan-Yan left the band in 2006 to pursue a career in modeling and fashion photography, and was replaced by Tregenza's long-time friend Rosie Harris. Between 2000 and 2006 they released 2 albums, "Goteki O/S" and "Revolution", an EP called "Fight the Saucermen" and a remix album "Goteki O/S: Corrupted Files". 2009 sees them working on "The Summer of Santa Muerte", a collection of 5 digital albums being released between July and November. Also, between 2000 & 2006 they toured Europe and North America, with highlights including Belgium's "Eurorock Festival", "Convergence X" in Chicago and appearances at the UK's legendary "InFest", "Whitby" and "Electrofest" festivals. They disbanded in 2006 and formed a 5 piece electro-indie band, but as time went on slowly migrated back to pure electro. In 2008, after a charity gig in London they decided to reform. The band is currently working as a 4 piece consisting of Tregenza, Crash, Banda, and Ali Star . They are working on a new album, working title "Santa Muerte", which is scheduled for release in early 2009. A "best of" collection of their 2000-2006 work was made available on 1st December 2008 via iTunes. Over the summer of 2009, the band are set to release 4 5 track EPs, titled "Shoot Me Dead", "Atlantic Pacific" and "Take Me To your Lover" 02 Aug 2011 Goteki announces they will release entire catalog for free http://www.side-line.com/news_comments.php?id=46678_0_2_0_C
