Gren Bartley from Straford-upon-Avon in England (1982) - www.grenbartley.co.uk Gren Bartley sits quite comfortably between English and American folk music and is an impressive songwriter with "a depth and insight of someone twice his age". He has toured all over the UK and is quickly building a core of fans wherever he goes. Catch him now... quick. His music is both contemporary and heavily rooted in old blues and folk songs. Whilst the first thing you'll hear is his virtuosity on guitar, it is his mature vocals and poetically crafted lyrics that ensure the longevity of this young musician's career. His first full solo album “Carry Her Safe” is a collection of original songs and tunes, played on guitar and banjo. The album is released through Musician Records. A busy tour follows and he shall be making appearances at folk clubs, acoustic venues and festivals across the UK. His first demo CD released in 2005 titled "Detalina" received fantastic reviews and gave him a solid foundation in the East Midlands music scene. His second CD "e°g°" with fiddle sensation Tom Kitching, led to a record deal with folk stalwarts Fellside Records. The duo now work nationally with help from agents Emerging Music, and with the release of their first album "Rushes" the future is looking bright. Gren's song writing is still at the forefront of what he does and his progressing solo career and continued work with Tom Kitching have offered him varying styles in which to hone his craft. After a string of live and radio performances, It won’t be long before Gren is a major force on the scene.
