Guv is Matt Atwood, Adam Cissell, Bryan Ploutz, and Jeff Zupka. Shortly before the band formed in late 2003, Adam Cissell recorded "Papercut" and released it as Guv's first album. After forming in 2003 and screwing off for a year, they decided to record an album. That began in late 2004. In the fall of 2005, Guv gained online radio acclaim, being featured twice on indie rock station WOXY.com, on their Unsigned@WOXY.com program, which features upcoming bands from around the globe. Guv's "Firestorm" was played on this program and also mixed in with regular rotation along with other indie rockers. The majority of the recording for the album was done in 2005 and early 2006. In the spring and summer of 2006, mixing and mastering of the new album was performed by Guv and by Uncle Punchy (Clutch, The Apes, The Hard Tomorrows, Red Right Return) in Silver Spring, Maryland. By the end of 2006, the album, titled "Cannibals, Cones, Adultery and Sunshine" was then finished, musically speaking. The artwork, created by Tim Kearney in San Fransicso, CA, was completed and approved by the band during September 2007. At the end of October 2007, "Cannibals, Cones, Adultery and Sunshine" was officially completed.
