Hail! The Planes is a post-folk band from Cardiff. Things began in October 2007 when four friends got together and made a folky racket in a small room above an estate agents. Since then they have written some songs, played some shows and met some nice people. Some people on the radio have played their songs too, which is very kind of them. They are influenced by instrumental bands like Do Make Say Think and Dirty Three, and also more vocally-oriented indie like Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire. Hail! The Planes recorded a four track EP in December 2008 that goes by the name "Tree Creeper & Other Songs". Tracks from this EP have been played on Adam Walton's BBC Radio Wales show, and by John Kennedy on his Xfm X-posure show (on which the band were a featured artist).
