Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies are a nomadic folk-pop collective, driven by the hook-heavy song writing of their band leader. They fuse a diverse range of traditional musical forms, from ballads to reggae and sea-shanties, into a textured and playful indie-pop experience. The core members of the band are Harry Bird, Christophe Capewell and Patrick Durkan, all of whom met while studying at Durham University. Maria Blackwell sang on and toured the band's first album and continues to contribute album art work. Their album releases are Long Way to Be Free (2008) The Bones on Black (2012), both on their own Hot Drop Records.
