‘With the Head of a Beast’ represents a musically progressive step in HOAD’s song-writing. It embodies the evident and often tangible soundscape that characterised their last EP whilst introducing a potent fusion of percussive, compelling rhythms that nurture the tender melody. This, in perfect association with thoughtfully unaffected lyrics and a swelling tide of dedication, yields a sound that manages to be both soulful and distinctively authentic. ‘With the Head of a Beast’ marks a clear indication between ‘Awake and Carry on’ a record that was born out of two song-writers from other bands collaborating.
