There are three bands that are called/were called Hubcap. (1) The first Hubcap is from Chicago, Illinois formed in 1992 by Billy Smith, Andy Zboralski, and Jay Ryan. With the help of Steve Albini (Shellac) and Dylan Posa, they recorded their one and only album in 1996, "Those Kids are Wierd" (Actionboy Records, re-issued in 2001 by 54'40 Or Fight!) Members and x-members of Dianogah, Haymarket Riot, Traitors, Orwell, Whaler, and MIS. The photo with 4 people in it, is not this version of Hubcap. Look for the 3-piece photo. (2) The second Hubcap is a 4-piece band from Ithaca, NY. Formed in 1999 by Steve Gollnick (lead vocals and guitar), Peter Glanville (lead guitar), Walt Lorenzut (bass), and Ryan Cady (drums), the band follows in the alt-country footsteps of Uncle Tupelo and the Replacements while exploring power pop, country blues, and psychedelia. Hubcap released its debut album, Halogen Sons in 2002. Their second album, Between The Rails, produced by Billy Coté of Madder Rose, was released in 2004. Most of their recordings were only released on tape and is becoming harder to find decent surviving tracks.
