Perth-based bluesy/indie Americana rocker Michael Paolino, better known as Husband, emerged in late 2011 with the release of a self-titled EP, which reached number 119 in the CMJ Top 200 chart in the US and hit the Top 30 at 35 stations, including KSYM in San Antonio, Texas where it reached number 1. His growling baritone and gritty, honest storytelling was described as “a much more southern version of The National” by WSYC radio in Pennsylvania, while influential blog PopMatters said, “Paolino manages to sound like a peak-era Glenn Danzig striding into a pop masterpiece written by Chris Isaak.” Husband has released his debut album, ‘The Money’, January 23rd, 2015. The album was written over a two-year period when he was adjusting to the idea of - well, becoming a husband. Produced in Los Angeles with Rick Parker, who is best known for his work with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the album continues on the path of Husband’s signature brooding sound.
