Born-and-bred Londoner Jack Day has been building a home town following based on formiddable live shows and song-writing ability. Putting himself at the heart of the vibrant London Americana / singer-songwriter scene, Jack has cut his teeth alongside some of the finest emerging talent that the capital has to offer. Early in 2011 Jack enlisted the help of Brian O'Shaugnessy at Bark Studios (Primal Scream, Denim, Beth Orton, The Rockingbirds, The Redlands Palomino Co.) in a bid to set down on record what he has been doing live. The result is a six song demo showcasing an arresting performing style and clear song-writing ability. A busy 2011 has included being on the artists selection committee and curating a sold-oout venue at the Gaymers Camden Crawl 2011, a number of UK festivals, shows in Berlin, Milan and Bologna, and supporting Trevor Moss & Hannah Lou (Heavenly Recordings) on their 'On Big Water' tour. Jack co-hosts the thriving Lantern Society where past performers have included The Magic Numbers, Danny George Wilson (Danny & the Champions of the World), a.h.a.b and The Hank Dogs. The Lantern meets every first and third Thursday of the month at the Betsey Trotwood in Clerkenwell. http://www.jackday.net/ jackdaymusic@hotmail.co.uk MU no. 1018491
