James Deane is a singer/songwriter based in Guildford near London. Starting his musical journey alongside future EMI recording artist Ed Harcourt in power-pop four piece ‘Snug’, James has since gone solo and has been intensely focusing on song-writing. Upon discovering classic artists such as 'Crosby, Stills & Nash', 'Neil Young' and 'The Band' he set out to write those type of songs. Acoustic based slices of perfection that pull at the heartstrings and have the ability to tell his entire life story through simple, honest lyrics. The resulting songs are powerful and sincere with world-weary lyrics that belie his 29 years. With a strong and original voice and the spirit of early Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen in his live performances James soon attracted the attention of music publisher Jana Yell who signed James to Yell Music in 2009. His sights are now set on the USA and he has been attracting some welcome attention in the music capital, Nashville.
