Vocals & guitar - James Owen Fender Drums - Tom Knox Bass - James Knox James Owen Fender might be the new boy on the musical block, but at just 24 years old he’s got a bundle of songs full of catchy hooks that are currently getting everyone excited about this talented newcomer. Born and raised in Leeds, James relocated to London aged 17 in search of musical success. Having played in his group project, The Tarka Groove Experiment since the age of 16, he decided to go it alone for a while and concentrate on solo material. His influences are drawn from far and wide. Musically they are as diverse as The Clash, Bill Withers and Tom Waits – while err…other things that influence him include Farndales Fish and Chip shop, Leeds United and ‘pretty pretty girls’! Currently penning songs for his debut solo album, James will be taking over vocal and lead guitar duties. His primary concern is that his debut long player will stand the test of time, ‘I’d hate to look back in 10 years time and say what on earth was I thinking.’ And something tells us it will.
